JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Market and sell truckload (TL) transportation solutions and warehouse services. • Identify new prospective accounts, follow up on website inquiries and other leads, initiate contact with decision-makers, identify needs and fit with United service offering, create proposals, negotiate agreements, close sales. • Build and nurture relationships and grow sales with existing clients. • Communicate with sales team and management on goal-setting and performance. • Communicate the new customer requirements to the operational team and coordinate the setup of the new customer’s account, items, and service requirements. • Reports on new prospect status and details for sales pipeline analysis and forecasting.
Other sales-related duties: • Works with UWC Transportation to book loads tendered from customers, trace loads as needed and handle any other related duties. • Tracks sales activity and sales results using online team Sharepoint site, sales calendar and pipeline spreadsheet tools. • Maintain documentation of sales activities, proposals and service agreements, account and contact details, service costing calculations, and other sales activities, including related expenses. • Maintain awareness of competitor’s sales efforts and programs in the industry and the territory. • Attend trade shows and industry conventions as requested by management. • Attend sales training as requested by management.
